Emmerdale fans are buzzing with theories about a possible new love interest for Charity Dingle, played by Emma Atkins, despite her marriage to Mackenzie Boyd, portrayed by Lawrence Robb. Charity was caught off guard when Ross Barton, played by Mike Parr, made a surprise return to the village.
Charity and Ross share a son, Moses Dingle, hinting at the potential for rekindled feelings. Ross’s unexpected comeback after six years unfolded dramatically, with him revealed as Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) opponent in a bare-knuckle fight.
Mack, who watched the intense showdown, was shocked to find Moses witnessing his father’s fight with Billy and quickly moved him out of the warehouse.
Later, Charity and Ross shared a heartfelt conversation where he revealed that Rebecca White (Emily Head) had sadly passed away, leaving her son Seb in the care of an aunt in Bristol. Charity listened sympathetically as Ross opened up about how Rebecca’s sudden death had led him down a dark path, but she firmly advised him to rethink bringing Moses to any more illegal fights.
Struggling with finances, Ross secured a job at Butlers Farm, but Mack wasn’t thrilled to have Charity’s ex back in the village and seemed determined to keep a wedge between them.
On Friday (November 1), Ross began his new role on the farm. His interactions with Mack grew tense, especially when Ross took a concerning call. Shortly afterward, Charity asked Mack to babysit Moses, despite Mack’s reluctance, since she suggested Moses spend time with Ross. Mack eventually agreed, though reluctantly.
Meanwhile, an anxious Ross, still shaken from an earlier clash with his boxing promoters, was keeping watch in the barn when he panicked at approaching footsteps and fired a shot into the ceiling, nearly hitting Moses and Mack.
Furious about the incident, Mack accused Ross of poor parenting, and Charity reluctantly agreed that Ross needed to step up.
