Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) have finally reunited in EastEnders, and as long-time supporters of their relationship, we couldn’t be happier.

Kat, who’s been leaning on Alfie for support in recent weeks, has started to see him in a new light. After enduring abuse from her son Tommy (Sonny Kendall), Alfie has been a constant source of comfort, and their connection deepened after a positive meeting with their social worker. In a moment of gratitude, Kat kissed Alfie, and that kiss changed everything.

In tonight’s episode, Kat visited the Slaters to fill Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Jean (Gillian Wright) in on her situation. Over some wine, the three women discussed the ups and downs of potentially rekindling Kat’s relationship with Alfie.

Meanwhile, Alfie had his own conversation about his feelings, but this time with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Freddie (Bobby Brazier) over beers. Ian, always ready with advice, reminded Alfie of Kat’s past with Derek Branning, but Freddie suggested they not dwell on the past and tried to lighten the mood with some meditation (though it was more awkward than zen).

Just as Freddie asked Alfie who his true love was, a photo of Alfie and his late Nana Moon fell off the shelf. Alfie picked it up and shared with Ian and Freddie that his grandmother’s dying wish had been for him to be with Kat, leaving Freddie surprised.

When Kat returned to the flat, she found Alfie had set the table for dinner, but the moment felt tense. Sensing her hesitation, Alfie quickly said they shouldn’t get back together. However, their awkwardness was interrupted when a towel caught fire. Kat quickly put out the flames with a fire extinguisher and, with a mischievous smirk, sprayed Alfie with foam.

Later, Kat and Alfie stood by the window, watching fireworks light up the night sky. Covered in foam, Alfie gazed at Kat and confessed, “I’m mad about you, Kat Slater.”

With a smile, Kat replied, “You’ve always been my man in the moon.”

The two then shared a kiss as the fireworks continued to sparkle in the background.

Kat and Alfie are back together, at last.
