An emotional week lies ahead for several Coronation Street residents as Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) funeral approaches.

Joel’s actions left a lasting impact on many in Weatherfield, with locals still struggling to rebuild their lives in the wake of his death.

After he vanished at the end of September, his body was soon discovered, and a post-mortem confirmed that he had been murdered.

With suspicions hanging over multiple characters, the looming mystery makes it difficult for anyone to truly move on.

Next week, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) lean on each other as they navigate recent challenges.

Lauren is moved by Dee-Dee’s kindness when she offers her and baby Frankie a place to stay, prompting Lauren to give her flowers in gratitude.

While Dee-Dee prepares tea for Lauren’s visiting social worker, she stumbles upon an old love note from Joel. The discovery leaves her visibly emotional, showing that Joel’s actions are still weighing heavily on her.

Meanwhile, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) shows up at Max Turner’s (Paddy Bever) place and is stunned to see Lauren there as well.

When they assure him they haven’t been avoiding him, Bobby presses them for answers.

On the day of Joel’s funeral, a troubled Lauren tries to make amends by inviting Bobby to visit baby Frankie at the hospital.

However, the situation becomes more tangled when Max confesses to Lauren that he has feelings for her. Although surprised at first, Lauren admits she feels the same way.

Meanwhile, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) grows wary after noticing Dee-Dee behaving oddly.

Eavesdropping on a conversation between her and Joel’s father, Gus, Kit doubts her sincerity when she claims she might attend the funeral to promote forgiveness.

Is Kit justified in his suspicions, or is he misinterpreting Dee-Dee’s intentions?
