NICOLA King began to grow suspicious of her malevolent nephew-in-law, Tom, after observing her son’s changed behavior around him.
The Emmerdale antagonist has been wreaking havoc as he seeks to completely destroy his ex-wife’s life.
Tom King physically and emotionally abused Belle Dingle after their marriage, but when she finally fought back against one of his violent assaults with an axe, she was the one who faced legal trouble.
So far, Tom has successfully kept his family unaware of his twisted treatment of Belle, but he nearly got exposed when Carl Holliday obtained his iPad.
Realizing the device contained evidence of his abuse, Tom went to extreme lengths to retrieve it from Carl. In a chilling moment, he smashed the iPad with a rock while the young boy watched in fear from his hiding spot.
Tom attempted to bribe Carl with a remote-controlled car to ensure the boy would keep quiet about the iPad’s existence.
However, in upcoming episodes, Carl’s mother will start to notice that her son seems troubled. She begins to question him about his unusual behavior, but the child quickly shuts down when Tom arrives during their discussion.
Nicola’s suspicions deepen when she sees that Carl has discarded the toy car Tom gave him in the bin.
She goes back to her son to ask why the little vehicle has been tossed and manages to get a bit more information out of him, but it is clear that Carl is scared.
Nicola speaks to Jimmy about the situation and starts grilling Tom on his recent behaviour.
The situation rapidly intensifies, leading her to threaten to call the police on Tom. However, with the iPad now destroyed, will there be any evidence of his abusive behavior?
Could Nicola’s accusations inadvertently put both her and Carl in danger, along with Belle?
