The new owner of the wine bar Peggy’s will soon be revealed in upcoming episodes of EastEnders.

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who has owned the bar since 2022, is now making plans to sell the establishment.

Phil’s relative, Teddy (Roland Manookian), expresses interest in buying Peggy’s in scenes yet to air. He shares his ambition to his son Harry (Elijah Holloway), stating his desire to purchase the bar and become a respectable businessman—all in an effort to impress Harry’s brother, Barney (Lewis Bridgeman).

Meanwhile, Teddy instructs Harry to investigate what happened during Barney’s visit to their mother. However, Harry’s aggressive tactics only serve to further alienate Barney, leaving Teddy feeling hopeless.

Phil’s sister Sam (Kim Medcalf) named the bar after their late mother, following a tradition established by the previous owner. The establishment was formerly known as Ruby’s when Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) was in charge.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Ruby will be returning to the BBC soap. Could she swoop in and reclaim her former business?

In August, Peggy’s played a significant role in a dramatic storyline involving a chaotic club crush. The incident unfolded when customers pushed through the queue, resulting in the venue becoming dangerously overcrowded.

Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine), the manager, struggled to sell tickets for her club night and urged her staff to do whatever was necessary to achieve a “sell-out” event. However, her employee and stepsister, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), sabotaged the night by adding extra tickets to the website, seeking revenge on Penny for taking her job at Peggy’s.

This led to serious injuries for several people, including underage Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd).

Will the drama continue, no matter who takes over as the new owner?
