With Caleb (Will Ash) destroying the farm and Will (Dean Andrews) wrecking his garage company in Emmerdale, Cain (Jeff Hordley) has been so preoccupied with helping Dan (Liam Fox) that he has nearly forgotten about his own financial difficulties.
However, they say that things usually happen when you’re not searching for them, and he is expecting to receive a small windfall as a result of an unexpected arrangement. But is everything as it seems?
When Corey, a newcomer to the community, approaches Cain with the offer of a job at the garage, Cain is fascinated by the possibility.
Cain may have his doubts about this newcomer, but he doesn’t know the whole story. Nate (Jurell Carter) is friends with Corey from school. He is spotted by Nate in the village, and the two meet together. However, when Nate’s financial concerns are revealed, he is struck speechless. He believes he failed. He unexpectedly declines Moira’s (Natalie J. Robb) offer of further labour, but he does so because he is hatching a plot.
Contrarily, Cain is suddenly flush with cash due to Corey and begins daydreaming about paying off Caleb’s loan even more quickly now that he has a large collection of vehicles at his disposal. To Nate’s dismay, he pulls in Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) because he needs an extra set of hands.
When Nate sees Mackenzie working in the garage, he loses his calm and leaves with a goal in mind.
He locates Corey at his workplace and approaches him, pleading for a job. But when Caleb arrives out of nowhere, Nate is taken aback and learns the fleet’s sinister secret. Nate is not a simpleton, despite Caleb’s best efforts to fool him.
For Nate and Caleb, the balance of power has changed, and Nate takes advantage of this.
He uses coercion to get his uncle to hire Nate or risk Nate telling Cain the truth. When Cain learns the truth about the cars and how Nate attempted to cover it up, how will he respond?
