In forthcoming Emmerdale episodes, Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) receives some wonderful news. The farmer hasn’t had anything to grin about lately because she’s been struggling to make ends meet after Caleb (William Ash) wrecked her business. She deserves something enjoyable to look forward to.
She is overjoyed to learn that her brother Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe (Jessie Elland) intend to baptize baby Reuben and want her to serve as the child’s godmother. A tearful Moira is happy to accept.
The stage is set for a joyous family occasion when Chloe invites Matty (Ash Palmisciano) and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) to serve as the child’s other godparents.
There is, of course, a twist. It happens after the venue they had reserved is canceled and Charity (Emma Atkins) suggests the Woolpack as a replacement. Mack goes to talk to Charity about it after Chloe dismisses the notion but they realize it is the only sane course of action.
As they converse, they become more emotional over their predicament, which causes things to snowball until they are sleeping together.
Charity starts to consider whether there might still be hope for her and Mack’s relationship as Mack leaves Chloe, who is happy that he arranged the baptism location.
He visits Butlers to see Moira and, overcome with guilt, dampens her joy at being a godparent by telling her what he did. Concerned for him, Moira warns him not to tell Chloe what occurred for fear of permanently losing Reuben.
Will Mackenzie ultimately conclude that’s a price he’s willing to pay as he finds himself torn once more between Chloe and Charity?
