Emmerdale is set to be taken off-air in a schedule reshuffle next week, likely disappointing some fans.

The ITV soap won’t be shown on Thursday, November 14, as it will be replaced by live football coverage. England’s UEFA Nations League game against Greece, held at Wembley Stadium, will air at 7:45 p.m. on ITV1.

Instead, Emmerdale fans will have to wait until Friday, November 15, to catch the latest happenings in the village.

Currently, the soap is following the tense storyline involving Tom King and his troubled relationship with Amelia Spencer (played by Daisy Campbell).

In recent episodes, Tom tried to smooth things over with Amelia after an argument. However, his abusive behavior, which escalated during his past marriage to Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), has continued, despite Belle’s initial hope that he’d change.

Now under police investigation, Tom’s only defenders are Amelia and his uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles).

In a recent Bonfire Night episode, the Dingle family burned an effigy of Tom, signaling their awareness of his actions. This angered him, and in frustration, he lashed out at Amelia, calling her “pathetic” when she tried to calm him down.

In the following episode, Tom confided in Jimmy that Amelia was ignoring his messages. Jimmy then approached her, and she opened up about how Tom had been treating her, but he persuaded her to give him another chance.

When they met up, however, Amelia’s concerned expression suggested she may finally be realizing Tom’s true nature, despite him assuming she was still on his side.

Many viewers have grown weary of the storyline and have called for it to conclude.

Some took to social media platform X to express their frustration: “This storyline is unbearable now. They lost me when Tom was stabbed with an axe but acted like it was nothing. I feel for real abuse survivors who watch this.”

Another commented, “The year is 2096, and Tom is still in Emmerdale,” while others added, “Amelia might finally be seeing the light. #Emmerdale.”
