On Friday, Coronation Street wrapped up the week with a few surprises, with one couple’s romance just getting started and another on the rocks.
Although Billy Mayhew’s fiancé Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) is attempting to accept his motor neuron disease (MND) diagnosis, Coronation Street viewers believe they have “worked out” that Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) could have an affair.
Billy has been pushed away by his girlfriend despite his sadness about Paul’s condition.
In the ITV soap opera’s episode from last Friday, Billy tried to convince his fiance that he could soon require a wheelchair, and Paul accused Billy of being patronizing.
Billy insisted that Paul should be focusing to the future even though Paul wanted to celebrate Pride Day and put his painful diagnosis behind him for the day.
After becoming wasted and pushing Billy further away, Billy revealed the issue to his ex Todd, leading some fans to speculate that an affair might be imminent.
Many fans shared their predictions on social media, with @deanobeanos of Twitter writing: “Billy going to get with Todd next no doubt #Corrie.”

Paul overheard Billy admitting to Todd that if Paul hadn’t had MND, he wouldn’t have forgiven him for drunkenly kissing someone else. This made matters considerably worse for the marriage.
Billy stated to his former partner Todd that Paul’s disappearance today was not the first time he has done so.
My head was full of all kinds of things today since he ended up snogging one of his ex-girlfriends while he was being punished, the man said. Todd said sympathetically, “I get that.
The truth is, if he hadn’t been ill and had done that, I doubt that I would have stayed with him, Paul said as he came out of his room and was in the vicinity.
A distraught Paul interjected, “Don’t hang around for my sake,” before saying, “I get it, I just want to go to bed,” before leaving.
