Theo freaked out when Kirby brings up marriage on Home and Away in the UK the following week, Rose discovers the recently monogamous Stacey on a dating app, and Bree and Remi are under surveillance.
Next week, Theo (Matt Evans) wonders about his relationship with Kirby (Angelina Thomson) after Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) and Tane’s combined hen/night buck’s makes him wonder if their goals in life might be different.
Even though their relationship has only been formal for a few weeks, the two have already encountered difficulties due to their concern over how bandmates Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) and Remi (Adam Rowland) would react to it, as well as the recent flying visit from Kirby’s ex-boyfriend Bob (Rob Mallett), who was trying to win her back.
They arrive just in time for best man Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) to deliver a moving speech on how proud Tane’s late brothers Mikaere and Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) would be right now at Tane and Felicity’s wedding celebrations at the club.
As everyone raises a glass to the happy couple, Theo can’t help but notice that Kirby is in tears. Theo is reassured by Kirby that she is fine and was just caught up in the moment.
Later that evening, as the group returns to Salt with Tane, Flick, and Nik, Kirby lauds Nik for his lovely speech. She continues by stating that she has a large family of her own and that she agrees that family is everything.
Theo is unaware of this, and he displays a somewhat unpleasant expression when Kirby wonders how she will feel at her own wedding, especially when her father delivers the speech.
When they eventually return to her home, Kirby observes that Theo is tame as he makes his explanations and goes straight to bed.
The following morning, Theo rushes out to work, leaving Kirby to wonder whether she may have upset him. Later, Leah (Ada Nicodemou) is shocked to discover her nephew working at the garage when it is meant to be his day off.
Leah and Justin (James Stewart) concern about Theo’s motivation after he questions Leah about her desire to avoid remarriage and whether he might be considering proposing to Kirby.
They appear to be completely out of touch with reality.
Theo admits that he cannot picture himself getting married in the future—in fact, it’s a firm no—after hearing what Kirby had said.
Theo concedes that Leah may be correct when she says that it could be as a result of what he witnessed his parents go through.
Leah advises Theo to speak with Kirby about getting married, but Justin questions whether it’s appropriate at this stage of their relationship.
Theo decides that it would be best to discuss it with Kirby right away in case she finds his position to be a deal-breaker.
Theo should not be concerned because Kirby tells him that marriage is not currently on her radar, although she acknowledges that it would at least get her father off her back because he wants her to be as content as he is with Kirby’s mother.
The discussion concerning Theo’s connection with his father, Leah’s older brother Dimitri, begins as Theo describes how his own parents’ marriage wasn’t the same (Salvatore Coco).
Kirby is aware that the two don’t get along, but she is unaware of the entire details of what transpired.
Theo didn’t report his father to the authorities for the physical violence he had endured from his father throughout his adolescence until just last year.
Theo seems to be more open and honest with Kirby about his traumatic background as he apologizes for shutting down the previous night and appreciates him for his trust. It appears that their bond is now stronger than ever.
Kirby (Kirsty Marillier) arrives and interrupts Theo and Kirby to give him the most recent information on Stacey (Maleeka Gasbarri).
Since Stacey (who is often polyamorous) decided to try being exclusive with Xander (Luke Van Os), Rose’s brother, she has been doubtful about whether a leopard can actually change its spots that quickly.
Rose is suspicious as she watches Stacey assist a man with his leg stretches as she conducts a training session on the beach.
Kirby laughs as Rose describes what she saw because that kind of stuff is actually part of Stacey’s job description. Rose then questions whether she is being overly neurotic.
Rose is still concerned, though. Kirby advises her to follow her intuition even though she is aware that she can’t talk to Xander about it since he will just ignore her.
Rose observes Stacey receiving multiple notifications on her phone back at the flat, which gives her an idea.
Rose checks the Smouldr dating app on her phone and modifies her preferences to display local ladies who are available. and Stacey’s live profile appears right away.
Is Stacey still putting herself out there for other potential partners?
Next week, in Summer Bay, Bree (Juliet Godwin), whose abusive husband Jacob (Alex Williams) has not shown up for work in Western Australia, is living in fear. Bree is convinced that despite the AVO being in place, Jacob is returning to Summer Bay to face her after she just reported him to the police for domestic abuse.
Bree won’t leave her motel room until Jacob is apprehended after discovering that he emptied empty their shared bank account, and Remi (Adam Rowland) insists on staying with her.
Later in the week, Bree makes the decision that she must continue living her life because if she doesn’t, Jacob will have prevailed. Bree declares that she will divorce Jacob and wants to go one step further by finally making a public appearance with Remi after going surfing.
The couple shares a passionate kiss as they exit Salt after a romantic evening… blissfully ignorant that Jacob is seeing their every step from a hiding place nearby…
